1)  Dignified treatment of local jail inmates.

2)  Concerns of growning numbers of inmates and expansion plans

3)  High ratio of minorities serving sentences

4) Small steps that can be taken to make a heart to heart difference towards beginning changes in our treatment of individuals in our jail system.

5)  Concerns regarding 2 meals served on weekends vs. 3?

Would like to see…

Civilian review to create transparency.

Website info re jail stats…ie; number of beds, inmates, costs etc.

Special events that would allow outside celebration meals or items to be brought in from outside….flowers, cupcakes, fruit tarts, books etc.

Allowing math classes, exercising, farming, that would allow an individual to experince dignity and self worth.

Putting together a grass roots group for jail reformation.

A much-needed session that clearly concluded with some great ideas as to how the community can work to ensure humanitarian protections of its disproportionately minority and low-income jail population. I stand with you in solidarity on this matter and hope to work with you to address these issues, soon!
