Stage B 4:30
- With budget cuts state-wide with education and social services, more agencies are applying for less funds. What to do? There is a sense of urgency
- Don’t duplicate services – our local community does not duplicate
- Embrace long-term cost effective programs
- Need operational costs not just special programs
- There are social ramifications when risk reduction successful programs are cut, community is hurt (youth and families are hurt)
- How can volunteers help sustain non-profits? – all universities, also professional volunteers providing a service
- How can churches (places of worship) participate in setting standards to benefit communities – demanding funding for quality programs
- Educate community about existing non-profits and their success and needs
Contact Attorneys, SPA, Financial aid planners are resources to create private donations – they need specific data on successes
Action:
- Could there be a social responsibility donation/tax locally to help our non-profits?
- How to support youth funding and how do we create a culture of giving from youth?
- Build rapport with legislators to re-look at priorities
- Marketing and building rapport with private local sources and community based resources to help local non-profits
- Keep working at making community perspective accurate – what does each agency/program do?
- One-on-one is the best fundraising tactic – building relationships
- Might the newspaper be a source of providing non-profit information
- Have non-profits talk to Rotary and Business Network I?
