• Why is social media important?
• With so many websites out there, how do you rise above the noise?
• Using blogs and Facebook to generate leads: members of the group have had varying levels of success.
• With the DN-R behind a pay wall, <a href=”http://www.whykai.com/why-business-related-web-friendly-content/”>fewer people know about what is happening</a> in our business community.
• Social media is 2-way communication: You must respond to comments.
• Focus on the value technology can provide, not on the newest technology
• Sharing ownership and direction of your brand with your customers/fans (if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em).
• Coalition-building to accomplish your online goals: what other local people/orgs have similar goals?
• Online community building is a slow and steady process. It doesn’t just happen easily or instantaneously.
• Blogging means being proactive for your business: not waiting for press coverage (Scott has been able to set himself up as expert on real estate via his blog).
