I agree there needs to be a focus on families as well as the young crowd at downtown restaurants. I missed the summit, but have done extensive research on this topic (I have two young children). Pennybackers has a great kids menu for younger kids, Daves is also a nice place for kids. For a little older, Clementines is excellent as well. While my kids are extremely selective about what they will eat, we have had great times every Wednesday night going out to eat downtown. We have never run into something that I consider out of line. Downtown has a great quality of life and is a perfect place to take the family for a night out.

Great Topics. Great Turnout. Great People.

Disappointed that I was the only person to show up at the "Family Friendly Dining in Downtown". I believe our downtown should not just cater towards bar hopping in the evenings, but rather a place where a family can enjoy a meal together and a night out. Many families do not eat downtown because they're afraid of what their children could be exposed to. Downtown shouldn't be for families just on the Holiday's, but rather other times as well. Of course if we want most of our local restaurants downtown to be bars, then chain restaurants like Applebees and Ruby Tuesdays are just fine.

Maybe I'm completely off base and out of touch, or maybe I just found a new restaurant concept for downtown.

Agree or Disagree, its something to at least give some thought to.
