Pray the Devil Back to Hell played at EMU’s Layman’s Auditorium 7-9pm to a large group of 150-200.
A film was shown about the very important role that Christian and Muslim women (united) played in ending the civil war in Liberia, in 2003. A very inspiring story that I just recently became aware of thru a song sung by a women’s chorus in N.C! How did I miss this story at the time it was happening? How did I miss that then Liberia went on to elect the first woman president–not only of Liberia, but the entire African continent? discussion followed the showing of the film led by one of the key women in the movement–Leymah Gboaree. Such a shame that this event conflicted with the last part of the Harrisonburg Summit!
Was left wondering what the example of a peace movement led by Christian and Muslim women in Africa can teach us in area of conflict such as Afghanistan and Iraq.
